TROPICAL CYCLONE: WARNING

TROPICAL DEPRESSION "MARING" HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE IN A WEST NORTHWEST DIRECTION.
• Moderate to occasionally heavy rains starting today will be experienced over Bicol region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Pangasinan due to TD "MARING"
• Expected to make landfall tomorrow afternoon over Quezon-Aurora area.
• Sea travel is risky over the Eastern seaboards of Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol region.
Location of eye/center: At 7:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression "MARING" was estimated based on all available data at 255 km East of Infanta, Quezon(14.7°N, 124.0°E).
Strength: Maximum winds of up to 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph.
Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 13 kph.

• 24 Hour(Tomorrow afternoon): In the vicinity of General Nakar, Quezon(15°N, 121.5°E)
• 48 Hour(Wednesday afternoon):250 km West Northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan(16.7°N, 118.1°E)
• 72 Hour(Thursday afternoon): 440 km West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur (OUTSIDE PAR)(18.3°N, 116.3°E)
• 96 Hour(Friday afternoon):590 km West Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (OUTSIDE PAR)(20.4°N, 115.5°E)
• 120 Hour(Saturday afternoon):855 km West Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (OUTSIDE PAR)(22.0°N, 113.5°E)

TCWS 1 (30-60 kph Expected in 36 hours):
Metro Manila, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Nothern Quezon incl. Polillo Island, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Aurora,
Impacts of the wind:
• Very light or no damage to low risk structures,
• Light damage to medium to high risk structures
• Slight damage to some houses of very light materials or makeshift structures in exposed communities. Some banana plants are tilted, a few downed and leaves are generally damaged
• Twigs of small trees may be broken.
• Rice crops, however, may suffer significant damage when it is in its flowering stage.
